AGNONA, a member of the Zegna Group, will launch the first collection under new creative director Stefano Pilati at Isetan Shinjuku and Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi on December 4th. The collection's theme is "Collection #0." Pilati incorporates the "palaka" motif, a Japanese fabric first exported to Hawaii and originally used for surfer pants and shirts. Palaka is a key element in the collection, appearing both as a print on knitwear and mixed with floral motifs on double silk and viscose. Classic silhouettes are eliminated, with contrasting cuts ranging from slim to oversized, straight to asymmetrical. Suits are paired with shorts. Double-faced cashmere in summery shapes and colors is also featured. The theme was inspired by Group Zero, an international collective that launched an artistic movement in Europe in the late 1950s. They rejected the homogenous culture of their time, and artists from all over Europe who agreed with them proposed new art in an environment that was not bound by tradition.
Agnona was founded in Italy in 1953. Based in a concept shop in Milan, it is committed to being "Made in Italy" in every process. It is particularly famous for its items made from cashmere, alpaca, mohair, etc.
