Lecture by Daito Manabe and Adrian Sherwood held at Electraglide in Makuhari

Nov 23, 2013

On November 29th, Makuhari Messe will host a "Red Bull Music Academy Session" lecture by media artist Daito Manabe at Electraglide, Japan's largest electronic music festival. The lecture will provide an opportunity to hear live from Manabe, who directs and promotes live performances for Perfume and whose creativity spans media art, music, and advertising. He will also share his passion, behind-the-scenes stories, and sources of inspiration. Additionally, the event will feature UK dub pioneer Adrian Sherwood, who has produced and remixed for artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and Primal Scream. He will provide in-depth commentary using a selection of dub tracks. The lecture will be open to ticket holders of "electraglide 2013" on a first-come, first-served basis (seating is limited). For Adrian's lecture, only 40 simultaneous interpretation receivers will be available for rental. Please check the details and make a reservation on the Red Bull Music Academy website. The lecture space will also screen (with subtitles) lectures by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Carsten Nicolai, both of which were held in New York this year, and by Debbie Harry of Blondie. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Red Bull Music Academy, an exhibition will be held featuring the lavish art book "FOR THE RECORD," published by Germany's Gestalten. Selected photographs from the book, which features conversations between top artists and industry insiders, will be on display.
