Actor Shun Oguri was born on December 26, 1982, in Tokyo.
He began his acting career as an extra after auditioning in the sixth grade of elementary school. His first regular role in a TV drama was in the 1998 drama "GTO." His 2003 appearance in the stage production "Hamlet" directed by Yukio Ninagawa led to him becoming a regular in Ninagawa's productions.
He made his breakthrough in October 2005 with his role as Hanazawa Rui in the TV drama "Boys Over Flowers." The series was a huge hit, garnering a sequel and a film adaptation.
