@cosme, a cosmetics review website, held the awards ceremony for the 2013 @cosme Best Cosmetics Awards and 2013 Best Beauty Store Awards in Roppongi, Tokyo on December 5th. The event, held in the hall of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, was watched by 40 invited @cosme Premium members while dining at tables. In the first part, Tetsuro Yoshimatsu, CEO of iStyle, the company that operates @cosme, gave a speech, followed by the announcement of the 34 category awards, five Newcomer Awards, Hall of Fame inductees, and the Grand Prize winners of the 2013 @cosme Best Cosmetics Awards. This year's Grand Prize went to Nivea/Nivea Cream by Nivea Kao. Nivea President and CEO Naoki Komoda took the stage and said, "Nivea Cream, which was launched in 1911, is now sold in over 190 countries. In fact, the formula has remained unchanged for over 100 years. It was first introduced in Japan in 1968, and at the time, some even joked, 'Are you putting shoe polish on your face?' (Based on the packaging.) This cream is a product experienced with motherly love not only in Japan but all over the world. I myself remember my mother applying it to me as a child. It's a cream that teaches the importance of skin-to-skin contact." In the second part of the event, hair and makeup artist Keiko Chigira held a makeup show featuring @cosme Best Cosmetics Award-winning products. She demonstrated this year's "Noble Nude Makeup" and next spring's "Beloved Pink Makeup." In the third part of the event, the winners of the "2013 Best Beauty Store Awards," presented to the most beautiful and radiant of the year, were announced. Hasegawa Jun was selected in the Model category, Rola in the Talent category, and Horikita Maki in the Actress category, and the three appeared on stage. Regarding their secrets to maintaining their beauty, Hasegawa Jun, who wore a bob cut and a black, tight mini dress with a plunging back, commented, "I believe that radiance comes from spending time with my family in Hawaii, doing yoga, and other happy times, so I value a balanced lifestyle." Rola said, "I have a lot of things I'm particular about. I believe I have to have beautiful skin, so even if I'm busy and late at night, I apply plenty of lotion and milk before going to bed. I also use lip balm. I wash my face thoroughly in the morning." Her casual tone of voice drew the audience's attention. Horikita Maki commented, "I try to get as much sleep as possible and take care of myself on my days off."
While on stage, Laura said, "My goal for next year is... to try something new. What it is is still a secret," and at the photo session at the end, the press asked her, "Please tell us what you want to do next year," to which she answered, "Music." When asked, "CD debut?" she replied, "It's still a secret," hinting that she will begin new musical activities from next year onwards, before leaving the stage.
The lineup for the "@cosme Best Cosmetics Awards" has been announced on the "@cosme" website.
