Bruno Frisoni 3/6--New Roger Vivier is based on memories and impressions [INTERVIEW]

Dec 26, 2013

"My designs are meant to capture as much of what Monsieur expressed as possible and convey the charm of Roger Vivier."

When Frisoni was developing the concept for New Roger Vivier, he focused on his memories and impressions rather than studying the archives. He wrote down in a small notebook any ideas that came to mind, such as Roger Vivier's philosophy and forms, animal-inspired shapes, or space-themed designs. Then, when he first got hold of the archives, he made modifications to the designs he had imagined and checked the details.

When creating the shoes, he didn't touch the buckle, which he felt was too Roger Vivier-esque. After absorbing Monsieur's free thinking and creativity in his own way, he began to express the brand's iconic buckle in his own way.
