Harry Winston has released a limited edition model from its HW Première Collection featuring the 2022 Chinese zodiac sign, the Tiger, on the dial.

This striking model features a dial depicting the rosette that adorns the gate of the brand's iconic New York Fifth Avenue flagship store and two adorable baby Tigers, evoking happiness in the new year. This special timepiece is limited to eight pieces worldwide and evokes the joy of the new year.

Celebrating the Year of the Tiger
Since 2016, Harry Winston has celebrated the Chinese New Year by releasing a special timepiece featuring the year's Chinese zodiac sign on the dial. February 1, 2022, marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, and marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger, the king of beasts. According to legend, those born in the Year of the Tiger are independent, powerful, and passionate. Before leaving home, cubs born in the Year of the Tiger discover their own world and hone their hunting skills while playing with their siblings. To represent the beginning of the Tiger's life, Harry Winston's designers have depicted two cubs playing in harmony on the dial. The Tiger's majestic, brown body is recreated in 18K rose gold. Its stripes are depicted in crimson mother-of-pearl, and its eyes are set with diamonds. The red color of mother-of-pearl and gold symbolize good fortune and prosperity, making this a fitting combination to celebrate one of China's most cherished traditions: the Chinese New Year.

Harry Winston's Iconic Design Codes
Like all Harry Winston timepieces, this model is imbued with the brand's diverse legacy, including founder Harry Winston's dedication to jewelry design, stone cuts, and techniques for elevating natural beauty to eternal brilliance. Its most distinctive feature is the rosette motif on the dial, which is used for the first time in a timepiece design. This motif, which adorns the gate of the flagship store at 718 Fifth Avenue in New York, is also used in the design of the jewelry collection "Winston Gate." This three-dimensional motif, featuring a diamond at the center, adds volume to the dial and conveys the brand's identity with a dignified expression. The peony depicted alongside the tiger also embodies the beliefs of founder Harry Winston. Ambaji Sindhi, who served as the brand's chief designer for 40 years, was renowned as a gifted painter and jewelry designer, and was a man of great talent who created jewelry for Indian royalty and maharajas. Together with Winston, he shared a passion for transforming the beauty of nature into jewelry, creating signature pieces inspired by delicate flowers. The peony depicted on this model is delicately rendered in mother-of-pearl in shades of pink, purple, and green, embodying the brand's ongoing adoration of nature since its founding. In keeping with the brand's reputation as the "King of Diamonds," the dial is adorned with 65 round brilliant-cut diamonds, radiating a sublime brilliance. Like many other watches in the HW Premier collection, the hour and minute counters are offset, and an emerald-cut diamond is set at 12 o'clock. Founder Harry Winston is said to have favored the emerald cut over all other diamond cuts.

The Refined Case of the HW Premier Collection
The HW Premier's 18K rose gold case is adorned with a total of 57 round brilliant-cut diamonds, including culet-side diamonds set on the lug tips and crown. The upper and lower lugs of the 36mm case feature a motif inspired by the iconic arch that adorns the gates of the New York Fifth Avenue flagship store. The strap is a lustrous red to match the dial color. It comes with a rose gold buckle set with 17 round brilliant-cut diamonds. The sapphire crystal case back allows visitors to admire the beautiful finish and movement of the Swiss automatic movement. Thanks to a silicon flat balance spring, this movement boasts a high level of precision, a 68-hour power reserve, and water resistance to 3 bar. The skeletonized rose gold rotor, the beautiful movement's finish, and the limited edition engraving (X/8) on the case back further enhance this special edition. Only eight pieces of the "HW Premiere Chinese New Year" will be produced, in reference to the Chinese lucky number 8, and they will be presented in a special red box featuring a tiger, peony, and rosette design.
