IDEE will be holding a special exhibition focusing on Mexican folk art, "The Popular Arts of Mexico," on the third floor of the IDEE Shop Jiyugaoka starting December 18th. The exhibition will feature a variety of items that have captivated artists from around the world, from mid-century designers like Alexander Girard and Charles Eames to Japanese folk artists like Genichiro Inokuma and Sori Yanagi. The exhibition will showcase the appeal of Mexican folk art through items purchased by IDEE in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as items selected by Takahiro Goko, owner of Swimsuit Department. Takahiro Goko is a buyer who founded Swimsuit Department in 2010 after working at UNITED ARROWS and Landscape Products. He also works as an import agent and organizes trunk shows and events showcasing vintage goods he purchases from around the world. The event will run until January 13th, 2014. Goko will be visiting the store on December 18th and 23rd.
