On December 1st, Sezon Museum of Modern Art opened its SEZON ART GALLERY (3-6-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) in Omotesando, Tokyo. Based on the theme of "The Everydayness of Art," the gallery spans the first floor, basement level 1, and basement level 2. It combines the artist's studio where the artwork is created, the gallery where the works are exhibited and sold, and a cafe/dining bar that serves as a space for people to engage in dialogue and expand their imaginations. The first floor is a highly flexible gallery that accepts artworks based on creative themes and will hold special exhibitions. The adjacent artist's studio also offers a rare opportunity to observe the creative process. The basement level features a cafe/dining bar that serves as a space for people to engage in dialogue. Guests can enjoy a meal and a drink while relaxing surrounded by works by the gallery's artists. Alcohol will also be served in the evening. The basement level will host solo exhibitions and special exhibitions by up-and-coming artists carefully selected from Japan and abroad. There is also a stage equipped with sound and lighting, where in addition to art exhibitions, live performances and video screenings are held.
On the first floor, the "YASUTO SASADA Exhibition" is being held until January 29th, featuring contemporary artist Yasuto Sasada, who is also known for his collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto. From February 5th, the "MITSUMASA KADOTA Exhibition" by painter Mitsumasa Kadota is scheduled to begin.
