Frederic Cassel will be selling the new February offerings from its monthly "INSPIRATION" series at the Frederic Cassel Mitsukoshi Ginza store from February 1st to February 29th. The three sweets on sale this time are "Baba," "Cream Puff," and "Macaron," all inspired by Cassel's favorite grape sansho pepper from Wakayama Prefecture. The "Baba Sansho" (700 yen) is a savarin pastry soaked in a syrup with a subtle aroma of fresh orange and grape sansho pepper, layered with light custard cream, fresh orange, and orange-scented milk chocolate ganache; "Choux Sansho" (500 yen) is a cookie choux layered with milk chocolate cream and orange-scented cream; and "Macaron Sansho" (240 yen) is a milk chocolate ganache scented with orange and grape sansho pepper, filled with orange jam.
In addition, from late January, new Valentine's Day suits will be available: "Cadena d'Amour" (6 pieces for 3,000 yen) and "Petit Cake Louis" (650 yen), inspired by the ritual that takes place on the Pont des Arts, the "Bridge of Love" in Paris, where lovers pledge eternal love, attach a padlock with their names written on it to the bridge's fence, lock it, and then throw the key into the Seine.
"Cadena d'Amour" (6 pieces for 3,000 yen) contains two of each of three flavors: "Cadena Noir," a passion fruit and dark chocolate ITAKUJA ganache coated in dark chocolate; "Cadena Les," with a subtle ginger scent; and "Cadena Dulce," a raspberry and dark chocolate ganache coated in bronze chocolate. "Petit Cake Louis" is a moist, rich chocolate gateau topped with sweet and sour raspberries, perfect for winter. Also available is an assortment of "Kokuriko" bonbons, exclusive to Valentine's Day and White Day (4 to 30 pieces, 1,400 to 9,200 yen).
