Blue and orange... What are the trend colors? [14SS Trend Summary]

Jan 7, 2014

FASHION HEADLINE will analyze the trends for Spring/Summer 2014 using 10 keywords. In this third installment, we'll look at trend colors. Also, pay attention to the overall styling that brings out the colors.

First up is blue, which has been popular for the past few seasons. A refreshing blue was used as the main color in KENZO's marine style, which was themed around the California sea. The dynamic hand-painted graphics give the sporty style an even cooler impression.

While sacai was packed with trendy colors like blue, pink, green, and beige, orange stood out as the standout color. Its vibrant color, close to vermilion, is the key. The collection proposed a one-tone style incorporating trendy gold necklaces and shoes.

In keeping with the trend keyword "tribal," earth tones also made an appearance. Stella McCartney keeps the look of a short-sleeved knit and skirt in brown tones, but combines different textures such as the knit, silk, organza and leather shoes to create a fresh look.

NINA RICCI is a model for a feminine style using pale and pastel colors. Here, the knit and mini skirt are put together in gray tones, with lace and see-through materials adding a coquettish touch. The no accessories and natural hair and makeup are the key to avoiding an overly sweet look.
