The ROUNDEL BY LONDON UNDERGROUND collection, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the London Underground, will launch in Japan on January 11th at Dover Street Market Ginza (DSMG). The collection will feature the Air Max 1 (¥16,275) and Air Max 90 (¥16,800), collaborations with Nike, available exclusively at DSMG in Japan. The uppers feature designs inspired by subway car seats. The Roundel logo is embroidered on the tongue. Sizes range from 26 to 30 cm, with half sizes also available. The lineup also includes T-shirts, work shirts, school blazers, pants, and scarves featuring graphics of subway maps and textiles used on subway car seats. Two types of T-shirts (S/M/L, 6,300 yen each) featuring the subway's "Roundel" logo are available exclusively at Dover Street Market, in black and white.
The collection was launched at a kiosk in London Piccadilly Station on the 14th of last month, causing a long line of customers to form, and became a hot topic. The creative directors are Slam Jam, a global distributor of street brands such as Carhartt and Stussy, and Andrew Bunney, designer of London-based jewelry brand BUNNEY.
