On January 8th, DIESEL BLACK GOLD unveiled its 2014-15 Autumn/Winter men's collection at the 85th PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO. Creative Director Andreas Melbostad presented his first men's collection. The show took place at Leopolda Station, close to the main venue where kolor and White Mountaineering previously held their shows in June and January, respectively. Featuring a wave-shaped design on the wall evoking the volume range of an LED, the collection evoked the digital futurism of '90s electro-rock. Vintage men's icon items like biker jackets and military bomber jackets were excessively decorated with materials and optional parts. The entire collection was crafted in a "black, white, and metal" palette, featuring studded leather pants, lacquered denim, flannel and felted wool jackets, and mirror-finish leather. The women's collection, also unveiled at the same time, featured camouflage patterns on shearling coats and dresses. Basic pieces, like a black and studded miniskirt, were given a rock-luxe treatment. "Futuristic and innovative are the key attitudes of this collection. I subversively mixed authentic men's pieces with the best modern fabrics," Andreas said. The show featured iconic '90s electronic rock music, including bands like The Prodigy. "I like rock, like New Order and Depeche Mode, but I listen to a wide range of music. We also play classical music in the atelier," he said with a laugh.
