Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store is hosting a Valentine's Day event, "Chocolate Paradise 2014." At the pre-event on the 23rd, cosmetics brand RMK offered some spring makeup tips. RMK's in-house makeup artist, Takeshi Kukimoto, introduced makeup ideas for special occasions like Valentine's Day and events. In keeping with RMK's spring/summer theme, "PLAY ON PINK," he shared gorgeous makeup techniques using the trendy pink color. Kukimoto advised, "Pink may have a strong image of cuteness, but depending on the shade you choose, you can make it look sexy or highlight a woman's strength." He demonstrated techniques incorporating various shades of pink in eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. For eyeshadow, he layered a pale pink with a gradation of brown and gold to reduce puffiness, and for lip color, he promoted a trendy red, citing the image of a "baby's healthy lips." Additionally, while pink blush is often applied in a rounded shape to create a cute look, she applied it softly in a diagonal line and added RMK's new palette, "Nuance Color," underneath to create a three-dimensional effect. "Even changing just one spot can completely change your look. I hope you'll use it as a technique for touching up your makeup after 5pm."
A color coordination event was also held by Seibu fashion advisors, who taught participants how to choose a tie that is easy to select as a Valentine's Day gift and a dress shirt that is recommended for a date, based on a personal color diagnosis.
