MM6 Maison Martin Margiela opened its first standalone store in New York in August last year, and its first European store in Paris last month. It has also expanded its business in Japan, holding pop-up shops in Tokyo and Osaka. An MM6 pop-up shop has also opened inside L'ESPACE Maison Martin Margiela, the Maison Martin Margiela concept store that opened in March this year on the third floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku for a limited period of one year. The shop will run until May 28th. It will feature event-exclusive items as well as all items from MM6's capsule collection, "Groups of 3," and will be displayed in a special interior that expresses the world of MM6.
The new products unveiled at New York Fashion Week, where Margiela made its debut with this Spring/Summer collection, included items featuring relaxed silhouettes, archive prints that collage prints from past Margiela collections, neon-colored shoes, and two-way bags.
Also, the "Groups of 3" collection, launched within MM6 in the 2012 Autumn/Winter season, is a line that proposes three different designs based on standard designs, with adjustments to volume and length. This time, dungaree shirts and shirt dresses, anaconda print bags, and more are on sale in limited quantities.
MM6 was launched in 1997 as Margiela's contemporary line. While inheriting the concept of the main line, it offers items that are more suitable for everyday use.
