May 13, 2013

The "LACOSTE 80th Anniversary ROAD SHOW," an exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the LACOSTE brand, will be held at the Roppongi Hills Big Roof Plaza in Tokyo from the 18th. It will run until the 26th. Admission is free.

The venue will feature archives of the brand's signature polo shirt, as well as an installation that uses projection mapping to represent the polo shirt of the future. The aim is to express the brand's future from its past history.

In addition, a pop-up store will be open at the adjacent ESTNATION Roppongi Hills store from the 17th to June 5th. It will sell limited-edition 80th anniversary collaboration items by British art director Peter Saville. Saville created Factory Records and created album artwork for some of the most iconic artists of the 1980s, including Happy Mondays, Roxy Music, Joy Division, and New Order. Since the 1990s, he has worked on promotions for many fashion brands, as well as graphic design for brands like Pringle and Givenchy.
