Tiffany unveils special necklace featuring over 80 carats of Empire diamonds in Dubai

Nov 24, 2021
Tiffany has launched the Blue Book Collection 2021 in Dubai. This marks the first time that Tiffany has launched the Blue Book Collection in the Middle East. To celebrate this monumental launch, the brand unveiled a newly designed necklace that reinterprets an archive piece exhibited at the 1939 World's Fair, set with an Empire diamond weighing over 80 carats. This is the most expensive piece of jewelry Tiffany has ever created. The necklace will be on display at ICD Brookfield Place during Expo 2020 Dubai, which runs from November 18th to 23rd.

A New Necklace Set with the Empire Diamond
In January, Tiffany announced a reinterpretation of this historic necklace, modernizing the original aquamarine and showcasing one of Tiffany's largest ever oval diamonds, a D color, Type IIa, IF clarity diamond weighing over 80 carats. This diamond is surpassed only by the Tiffany Diamond. This recreation of this historic piece is emblematic of Tiffany's legacy of innovative jewelry design, and the new design adds an unexpected twist. The breathtaking Empire Diamond will be transformed into a unique design that can be worn not only as an exquisite necklace but also as a diamond-set ring in platinum. While the 1939 World's Fair promised to "glimpse the world of tomorrow," Expo 2020 Dubai's theme, "Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future," both place the spotlight on the future—the perfect timing for the unveiling of this special Tiffany piece. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Tiffany through private, interactive experiences—a new customer experience that debuted as the "Tiffany Townhouse" during the collection launch in New York this fall. Not only will they be able to see new high jewelry designs and Jean Schlumberger masterpieces, but they will also be able to experience Tiffany's unparalleled craftsmanship, rare gemstones and the finest diamonds in a more personal and intimate setting than traditional presentations.

The vibrantly blooming exhibition space combines contemporary design, organic lines, and a stunning view of the Dubai skyline. A color palette inspired by the jewel-toned stained glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany's famous lamp designs creates a sophisticated and inviting space. One salon showcases a wide selection of loose stones, from rare colored gemstones to legacy stones such as morganite, tsavorite, and tanzanite, which Tiffany has proudly presented since the early 20th century. Another salon pays homage to legendary designer Jean Schlumberger, showcasing witty, curious, and dreamy creations. This unique and experimental exhibition space allows visitors to experience the world of Tiffany high jewelry like never before.
