Toyo Kitchen & Living will hold an exhibition titled "Mysterious Interiors" at Spiral Garden (Omotesando) from May 24th to 26th, showcasing the latest works by interior brand Fredrerique Morrel and design duo Bokja.
The exhibition will feature the Japanese premiere of eight new Fredrerique Morrel pieces, including "Dr. Zhivago," and 17 new Bokja pieces, including the "Bean Sofa."
Founded in Paris by artist Frederique, Frederique Morrel is known for his avant-garde style. Incorporating needlepoint embroidery, a specialty of his late grandmother, into his work, his pieces incorporate mythological elements such as Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, Paradise Lost, and Noah's Ark.
Bokja is a design duo based in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon on the Mediterranean coast, formed in 2000 by Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hibri. They focus on traditional crafts such as kilims, and create pieces that evoke the craftsmanship that only handmade items can offer. They have also attracted attention from the fashion world, with Christian Louboutin using Bokja chairs as fitting chairs in their stores.
In addition, at the same time, Luce Toyo Kitchen Style, Toyo Kitchen Style's lighting showroom, will be exhibiting new lighting and ceramics under the direction of Naoki Sakai of WATER DESIGN.
