An exhibition for the steteco brand "steteco.com" will be held at the URBAN RESEARCH Kyoto store and the URBAN RESEARCH iD Shibuya Lumine Man store from the 1st of next month. The Kyoto store will run until the 23rd, and the Shibuya Lumine Man store until the 16th.
The theme of this exhibition is "The Ultimate Comfort in Steteco." In addition to Steteco.com's new products, a wide variety of stylish stetecos suitable for both men and women will be available. Following on from last year, a rakugo performance by rakugo performer Katsura Kaishi will be held at the Kyoto store on the 8th from 7 PM. Rakugo and steteco have a deep connection. Around 1880, the rakugo performer San'yutei En'yu performed a popular dance called "steteco dance," in which he rolled up the hem of his kimono on stage to reveal half-puff sleeves. It is said that half-puff sleeves came to be called steteco. Steteco.com is the world's first steteco research institute, established in 2008. Working under the theme of "restoring steteco culture and creating new ones," the company develops and sells Japanese-made stetecos made from traditional materials. It also produces collaborative products with artist brands such as "HIROCOLEDGE" by Takahashi Riko and "enamel." by Ishioka Ryoji and Sayuri.
