Schiaparelli and Rochas appoint Marco Zanini as creative director

It has been announced that Marco Zanini will be the new creative director of Schiaparelli. He will be in charge of both haute couture and ready-to-wear collections. Zanini's first collection will be presented during the haute couture season in January 2014.

Schiaparelli was founded in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli (1890-1973). The house closed in 1954 and became part of the Tod's Group in 2006. For the 2013-14 AW season, the brand presented a capsule collection by Christian Lacroix.

Marco Zanini was born in Milan in 1971. In 1995, he worked for designer Lawrence Steele, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace before becoming creative director of Halston in 2008 to revive the brand. Since 2009, he has served as creative director of Rochas.
