Oct 1, 2013

The Business Promotion Section of the French Embassy in Japan will hold its first men's fashion business fair from October 16th to 18th. Nine French brands proposing a new French style will be coming to Japan.

These brands include Rousseau, a shirt manufacturer founded in 1849 that has continued to produce licensed products for brands such as Christian Lacroix and Pierre Cardin, French Deal, a brand where the designer, who is also a dancer, combines the worlds of music and fashion, Benoit Duvignac, a unisex leather goods brand, Serge Blanco, named after a rugby player and dealing in men's clothing and accessories, mainly polo shirts, Joe San, which is committed to using the finest materials and craftsmanship, Tom Edwards, which incorporates elements of Europe and the East Coast of the United States, Ttilika, a men's sportswear brand from the Basque Country, and Sebastien Blondin, which targets people in their 30s who enjoy urban life. Blondin and VALMARY, an online retailer of made-to-order French dress shirts, will be appearing.

As many of the companies will be visiting Japan for the first time, the event will also include programs to deepen their understanding of Japan, such as lectures on the Japanese market and tours of major shops. The event will be held at the French Embassy (4-11-44 Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo) on the 16th and 17th, and at the Osaka Office (6th floor, Manulife Place Dojima, 1-4-19 Dojimahama, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) on the 18th.
