
Starting on the 16th, Isetan Shinjuku will be hosting an event called "WHAT'S A FANTASISTA UTAMARO!?" in the TOKYO Liberation Zone on the second floor of the main building, featuring Fantasista Utamaro, a creator active in a variety of fields including art, illustration, graphics, and animation. The event will run until the 29th.
At the event, "beautiful people" and "MUVEIL WORK" will be selling coats and blousons made from textiles jointly produced by Komatsu Seiren and Fantasista Utamaro, which were unveiled at the Paris fashion materials trade fair "Première Vision (PV)." Additionally, a number of items created in collaboration with various artists, including Utamaro merchandise, original paintings from "MANGA CAMO," and silkscreen prints, will be on display and for sale.
Collaborating artists include Hiro Sugiyama, AMBUSH(R), magma, Colliu, SHUN OKUBO, Okamura Yuta, 83design, Oshima Tomoko, Labyrinth (Me-chan & Kyu-kun), Shishiyamazaki, Ly, Kono Misa, Hishinuma Ayako, Ono Shinobu, High-Me-TOKYO, OLGA, nukeme, VIVE VAGINA, Sekiya Yurie, joy!, Misako, Sugai Toshiyuki, micro works, bomi, and Tatamiya Tetsuya, making for a unique lineup of artists.
Fantasista Utamaro was born in 1979. After working as a freelancer, he founded Kotobuki Sun in July 2012. He is active in a wide range of fields, including art direction, illustration, textile design, graphic design, and animation direction. His works are known for their pop and vibrant colors, and in recent years he has worked on a number of projects, including CD jackets and music videos for artists such as Yuzu, livetune, Dempagumi inc., LM.C, Tokyo Karankoron, and AMIAYA.
