
Fashion designer Matthew Williamson was born on October 23, 1971, in Manchester, England. He studied print design at Central Saint Martins in London, graduating in 1994. He then worked as a freelance designer for MARNI. In 1997, he founded his own label, Matthew Williamson. His colorful and functional clothing became popular. In 2005, he took over from Christian Lacroix as creative director of Emilio Pucci, a position he held for approximately three years until Spring/Summer 2009. In 2007, he moved his presentation venue from New York to London, and a retrospective exhibition was held at the London Design Museum to commemorate the brand's 10th anniversary. His comeback was a huge success.
In 2009, they released a collaborative collection with H&M, and launched a menswear collection in 2010. This month they expanded into interior design, releasing fabrics incorporating motifs such as Pegasus, peacocks, dragons, and tigers.
