"SUKISUKIDAISUKI" for people of all ages who love color! [BASE @ Aosando Art Fair]

Oct 25, 2013

"BASE," an online shopping service, will be exhibiting at the art event "Aosando Art Fair" (October 24th to 27th). Eight shops using the site will exhibit and sell their products on a rotating daily basis. The venue is the H.P.FRANCE Planning Office (GB3F, 5-17-24 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

FASHION HEADLINE conducted email interviews with participating brands and shops. We will introduce them in relay format. This time, we will introduce "SUKISUKIDAISUKI," a colorful goods brand created by Ogawa Keiko, which will be exhibiting on the 26th (Sat).

--What is the concept of the brand?
The basic concept is "colorful + slightly spacey textile goods filled with the feeling of love, love, love!" We mainly sell tights, bags, and caps for men and women of all ages who love color.

--What made you decide to sell the items you sell?
I also work as an illustrator under the name Ogawa Keiko, but I wanted to make textile goods that were purely colored and patterned, rather than character goods, so I started my own shop under the name SUKISUKIDAISUKI in 2012. I've also loved colorful things since high school and often wore them, so I thought, "I wish I had something like that back then!" That's why I try to keep the prices affordable for high school students. Now, while staying true to my own style, I want my customers to think, "I found something unique in the vast ocean of the internet!"
--Why did you decide to set up an online shop?
I've always loved the internet and have always been interested in new services and trends in the online world. The great thing about online shops is that they can be purchased from anywhere in the country. I'm originally from Kyushu, and I'm envious and delighted that Tokyo and its culture, which were so far away when I was a teenager, are now instantly accessible online. I couldn't be happier if SUKISUKIDAISUKI spread to colorful people all over the country!

--Why did you choose to use BASE out of all the market sites available?
I immediately jumped at BASE. The main reason I decided to use it is that it's free and easy to get started with. It's easy to create a website, and the design templates are simple and cute. It's also easy to accept card payments. Because the items we sell are flashy, we chose a simple, white-based shop design to avoid it being too noisy.

--Finally, what do art, design, and fashion mean to you?
I think of them as non-verbal messages, like telepathy.
