Hitoshi Kuroki, active at Komosen Popeye, holds his first solo exhibition in Tokyo, "fragment"

Oct 28, 2013

Fashion illustrator Hitoshi Kuroki's solo exhibition "fragment" will be held at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama, Tokyo, from November 8th to 20th.
This is Kuroki's first solo exhibition in Tokyo, and as the title, which means "fragment," suggests, it is intended to showcase his work from his past to the present. Approximately 40 watercolors and pencil drawings will be on display and for sale. Related merchandise such as original T-shirts will also be available. A gallery talk will be held on the first day, November 8th, at 6:30 PM, during which Kuroki will personally explain his works. Admission is free.
Kuroki was born in Kagoshima in 1978. After working at a gallery and as an assistant to figure illustrator Yukinori Dehara, he became a freelance illustrator. He is active in a wide range of fields, mainly illustrating and advertising for fashion magazines such as "Commons & Sense," "Popeye," and "GQ," as well as creating cover illustrations, CD jackets, original T-shirts, and live painting.
