CoSTUME NATIONAL is holding "Architecture of Time," a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, at the gallery LAB inside its flagship store in Minami-Aoyama. The exhibition runs until January 13, 2014.

CoSTUME NATIONAL is supporting the autumn 2013 European tour of "Sugimoto Bunraku: Sonezaki Shinju: Tsukari Kannon-mawari," a stage adaptation of the puppet theater "Sonezaki Shinju," for which Sugimoto is responsible for composition, direction, and art direction. This exhibition, held to commemorate the performance, features works from his "Architecture" series, which are photographed using a unique technique of setting the lens's focus to twice infinity and blurring the entire image. Since its opening in 2011, the store has been displaying Hiroshi Sugimoto's works from this series on the wall of its attached bar.
