GMP International, which designs, manufactures, and sells the AirBuggy three-wheeled stroller, opened its flagship store, the AirBuggy Osaka Store, in Kitahorie, Osaka, on April 5th. This marks the company's sixth directly operated store. Previously, the company had a Kurakuraen store in Hyogo Prefecture, but its floor space was limited, leading to the opening of the Osaka store, which is over 66 square meters in size.
AirBuggy features a high-strength aluminum frame, pneumatic tires, and a foot brake, making it not only more maneuverable than a regular stroller, but also available in a wide variety of colors. It also offers the convenience of being able to accommodate child seats from Maxi-Cosi, a Dutch car seat brand for which GMP International serves as the import agent. Prices range from 43,000 to 50,000 yen.
Originally, the company operated as an import agency for imported strollers, but 12 years ago, they developed their own original stroller because some imported products did not suit the Japanese lifestyle. Since then, the company has been planning, manufacturing and selling its own brand "Air Buggy", while also acting as an import agent for "Maxi-Cosi", the Dutch stroller brand "Queenie", and the American baby carrier brand "Onya Baby". In addition to strollers, the company's original products include head puppies, mats, sunshades and iPhone holders.
The company's "Air Buggy" is said to be a favorite of celebrities such as actress Koyuki and talent Rinka.
