The Personal Stylist in Japan Association's Level 4 Personal Stylist Certification Exam is now available online. The Personal Stylist Certification Exam was launched to certify specialists who possess four qualities: communication skills, proper etiquette, the ability to instantly determine what suits a particular client, and a broader knowledge of fashion culture, including the history of fashion. Anyone aged 18 or older with an interest in fashion can take the Level 4 exam from their home computer. It features 50 questions covering everything from fashion to business etiquette, with a 50-minute test time limit. The exam fee is ¥3,500, and payment can be made by credit card or at a convenience store. Those who pass the Level 4 exam will only receive a certification, but those who wish to receive a certificate will also receive one for an additional fee. Also, a Personal Stylist Training Academy will open in July. Instructors include active stylists, buyers, and former educators for well-known brands. Support is provided through courses on customer psychology, language skills, and other skills development, cultivating talent capable of handling the job market.

The Personal Stylist in Japan Association was established in 2008 with the aim of conveying "the wonder of life" through fashion and culture, and supporting women's advancement into society and independence. In addition to training courses for personal stylists and branding consultants, the association also offers corporate training and consulting services, as well as IT-based services such as the "Fashionista Diagnosis" iPad app that analyzes fashion styles. The Personal Stylist Certification Examination was launched in 2011 as the "Fashion Meister Certification Examination," but was trademarked under its current name in 2013.
