Burberry has launched a new eyewear series, the Trench Collection. As the name suggests, the collection features pieces inspired by the brand's iconic trench coat.
The collection incorporates the distinctive details of the trench coat into its design. Temple tips, inspired by leather buckles, are crafted from leather with tonal stitching. The nose pads, modeled after the hook closure at the neck of a trench coat, are cast from a custom mold. While the design is focused on elements like the Burberry check pattern, the frames are also functional and adjustable for a perfect fit. Other details, such as the coat's Burberry check lining, are enameled on the inside and outside of the temples, exude the artisanal craftsmanship throughout the collection.
The men's collection features classic sunglasses in styles like double-bridge and brow frames, as well as square optical frames. Women's styles range from cat-eye sunglasses to soft square shapes. The sunglasses will be priced at 24,000 to 30,000 yen, and the optical frames at 27,000 yen. They will be available at eyewear specialty stores from mid-April.
