Stella McCartney's 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection combined functionality with playful style. The first half of the collection featured coats, dresses, and knitwear embroidered with zips and climbing ropes. The jackets were slim-fitting at the waist but had wide sleeves. Rather than simply being wide, the cut created a three-dimensional effect. The matching pants were stirrup-style, giving a sporty impression. The collection was completed with traditional men's shoes, such as derby and monk strap shoes with platform soles. Graphic patterns gradually emerged, sandwiched between melange knitwear. Optical color blocks were featured, including tie-dye, prints, and jacquards combining orange and wine, cerulean and midnight, and emerald and black. The final collection featured a series of draped pieces with fringe. The sensual colors and flowing textures accentuated feminine lines.
