"What's New Georgia!!!," a special exhibition by BAN-chan, a traveler specializing in Georgia, a country of fashion and culture, will be held at two ROCKET locations in Omotesando and Harajuku from May 19th to 24th.
BAN-chan, a traveler specializing in fashion and culture, left Japan with only 100,000 yen in cash and a round-trip plane ticket, and traveled from North America to Europe, couch surfing and cooking. Georgia (formerly known as Georgia), a country on the Black Sea coast known as the birthplace of wine, has been gaining attention in recent years as the birthplace of Demna Gvasalia, who took the fashion industry by storm with Vetements and was appointed creative director of Balenciaga.
This exhibition focuses on Georgia and unravels the creations of up-and-coming fashion designers. All participating brands are making their first appearance in Japan. Omotesando Rocket will exhibit and sell the latest collections and past collections by Lako Bukia and Lalo Cardigans, fashion designers based in the capital, Tbilisi, who are garnering attention from the global fashion scene. This will be an opportunity to experience the latest in Georgian fashion. Harajuku Rocket will also exhibit and sell collections by fashion designer Lasha Devdariani and designer/curator Ria Keburia, as well as a photo exhibition and sale of "Mother Georgia" for Comme des Garçons in Soviet Georgia 1989 by Brian Griffin. Additionally, on the 20th, there will be a wine tasting event by natural wine importer Racine, and on the 21st, you can enjoy Georgian cuisine by BAN-chan.
