Pierre Hardy holds a photo exhibition in collaboration with students. The relationship between photography and fashion

May 13, 2017

The Pierre Hardy Tokyo photo exhibition, "WALK WITH PIERRE HARDY," will run from May 18th to 22nd at the Pierre Hardy Tokyo store in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. This exhibition is a collaboration between photography students from the Ecole d'Arts d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland and directed by photographer Philippe Jarrigeon. The students selected 15 iconic items from Pierre Hardy's archive collection and photographed the shoes from their own unique perspectives. "Because the students were freed from the constraints of a business world, they were able to create work that was unconventional and free-thinking. This resulted in approaches that we, as professionals, would never have expected. They created stimulating and eye-catching works that respect the original designs," says Milo Keller, director of the photography department at the university. As such, this collaboration has also provided the students with an opportunity to consider the relationship between photography and fashion.

In addition, the exhibition will also feature original tote bags and a catalogue compiling the works (1,800 yen) on sale in limited quantities.
