Australian shop Sneakerboy and Atlanta-based footwear retailer Wish will release a collaborative sneaker globally on May 20th as part of adidas Consortium's Sneaker Exchange collaboration. While relatively new to the sneaker industry, Sneakerboy, with locations in Sydney, Queensland, Melbourne, and Chadstone, and Wish, a cutting-edge footwear retailer in the southern United States, have launched a string of high-profile collaborations. This collaboration, brought together by adidas Consortium, will feature two sneakers: the "PureBOOST" sneaker, crafted using the company's new Primeknit technology, and a redesigned "Climacool1." The design process for these sneakers began with a vision of transparency and light, inspired by the box jellyfish, the world's most dangerous jellyfish. Not only does the "PureBOOST" glow in the dark, but its defining feature is the transparent, coarse-gauge knit on the iconic adidas three stripes. It features a unique sock-like construction and a wide lacing system never before used in other Primeknit models.
The Climacool1 is a translucent, luminous version of a running shoe that first appeared in the early 21st century. Like PureBOOST, it uses Primeknit, a new textile processing technology, and the upper features a geometric pattern. This shoe is a return to an archive model and a modern remake that is distinctively Adidas.
