Shiseido Parlour releases parfaits and cream sodas inspired by the Shimbashi geisha festival "Azuma Odori"

May 15, 2017

Shiseido Parlour Ginza Main Store's Salon de Café will be serving desserts inspired by the Shimbashi geisha world's "Azuma Odori" festival for a limited time from May 23rd to 28th.

The "Azuma Odori" is a festival of the Shimbashi geisha world that has been conveying the chic and glamorous style of Edo since 1925. The special menu, created in recognition of Shiseido Parlour's close relationship with Shimbashi geisha and its 115th anniversary, includes two items: the "Azuma Odori Parfait" (1,980 yen, tax included), which combines soybean flour warabi mochi (bracken-starch dumplings) with shiratama (rice flour dumplings) and fruit for a rich and colorful texture; and the "Shinbashi Color Ice Cream Soda" (1,130 yen, tax included), which uses green apple-flavored syrup, lemon, and ginger ale to recreate the "Shinbashi Color" color, a color that was popular in the late Meiji period when Shimbashi geisha favored blue-green kimonos.
