The photo exhibition "Tokyo Graveyard: Nobuyoshi Araki x Guimet Museum of Asian Art" will be held at the Chanel Nexus Hall in Tokyo's Ginza district from June 22 to July 23. Araki Nobuyoshi, one of Japan's leading photographers, is a force to be reckoned with. His vivid portrayals of his unique perspective on life and death, using a variety of subjects—from alluring flowers and bondage nudes to his beloved Tokyo, the skyline he gazed upon as he remembered his late wife, and his pet cat Chiro, who shared his joys and sorrows—have garnered enthusiastic support both internationally and internationally. The exhibition will feature the Japanese premiere of "Tokyo Graveyard," a new series of photographs that were presented alongside a retrospective of Araki's 50-year career as an artist, at his large-scale solo exhibition "ARAKI" held at the Guimet Museum of Asian Art in Paris in 2016. Also on display are photographs from the late Edo and Meiji periods selected by Araki from the museum's collection. In addition, new works taken specifically for the exhibition will be on display, giving a glimpse into Araki's intense awareness of death after experiencing a serious illness.
