To celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the fashion brand 08sircus' shop "08book," a photo exhibition titled "These Days" by 08sircus and photographer Kyoji Takahashi will be held from May 19th. 08sircus, created by designer Kiminori Morishita, debuted in Paris in the Spring/Summer 2010 season. The brand's collections are packed with the attention to detail you'd expect from a men's designer, featuring intricate patterns that pursue functionality and unique, deformed silhouettes. Their timeless designs, crafted from carefully selected materials, have earned them acclaim both internationally and internationally. Kyoji Takahashi was born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1960. Since the 1990s, he has worked in magazines and advertising, garnering a cult following among young people. Recent exhibitions include "The Depth of Night" (2016, nap gallery, Tokyo) and his photo book "SHIBUYA" (2016, BANG! BOOKS). Regarding this project, Takahashi said, "We live in an unstable, apocalyptic age. Changing times are interesting, but at the same time, there is anxiety. I thought it would be best to express such times with color. Furthermore, the information, including the structure of the clothes and photographs, needed to be simple. In a world so complex that simplicity is difficult, I focused on color, lightness, and simplicity." 08book, the venue for this project, is a gallery and atelier run by Masanori Morishita. It carries his own line, 08sircus, as well as vintage furniture, crafts, and artwork, primarily from Scandinavia. The interior and original furniture were designed by Mitsuo Suma of HIKE, the art books and antique books sold were by Yusuke Nakajima of limArt, the vintage ceramics were by Yasunari Yoshida of ELEPHANT, and the garden design was by Kaori Nishikawa of Plant's Planet Garage. The web design and direction were handled by SIMONE, a company led by Kaie Murakami.
