Valentino's 2018 Resort Collection was unveiled in New York on May 24th. The collection's elements include shirts, dresses, pleated skirts, track jackets, and trench coats. While maintaining their basic silhouettes, each piece is transformed with added volume and new cuts for a sophisticated look. Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli's color palette, meticulously crafted by the label, effectively utilizes vibrant colors, including various shades of pink, red, burgundy, moss green, and sky blue. A modern take on '70s tracksuits is accented with bold sheer cuts and drawstrings, and the swaying stitching adds a touch of expressiveness. Tops like voluminous fur coats, botanical-print jackets, and flowing hoodie shirts create a feminine feel. Unique motifs, such as ancient symbols reminiscent of Tutankhamun, wild beasts, birds, and butterflies, are adorned with sequin embroidery and stitching, inviting the wearer into a borderless world, as if traveling through time and space.

The collection also featured dresses featuring illustrations by British designer Zandra Rhodes. This season, the collection features the lipstick and lips motif she created in the 1970s. Following the success of last season's "Love Blade" line, this collaboration also attracted significant attention. Other elements, such as striped fur shoes that combine socks and sneakers, colorful quilted bags adorned with Piccioli's iconic studs, and ethnic-inspired jewelry, further emphasized Piccioli's stylish ideas and avant-garde spirit.
