Shiseido Parlour will begin accepting reservations for its "Christmas Cake 2021," available exclusively at its Ginza flagship store, from October 10, 2021. This year, three types of cakes will be available: "Cocotte de Noel aux Fraises," a special cake made with the equivalent of approximately 50 strawberries, a popular item every year; "Gâteau Noel," a classic three-tiered shortcake; and "Gâteau Cade Huit Noel," a rich chocolate cake presented in a gift box. Each cake is meticulously crafted by our pastry chefs. Also available for a limited time and in limited quantities are "Gâteau au Chocolat" and "Stollen," recommended for this time of year. A traditional German sweet eaten in small slices during Advent (the season leading up to Christmas). Fruit flavored with liquor is added to a fermented dough containing chopped unpeeled almonds, giving it a spicy aroma of cinnamon and other spices. After baking, the dough is dipped in browned butter while still hot to make it moist, and then finished with a sprinkling of fine granulated sugar for a crunchy texture.
