A photo exhibition by a Dutch photographer capturing "Japanese native horses" from all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa!

Sep 19, 2016

Dutch photographer Charlotte Dumas's photo exhibition "Stay" will be held at Gallery 916 in Tokyo's Minato Ward from October 7 to December 25. Charlotte Dumas's work explores the relationship between animals and humans in modern society. This exhibition, a culmination of her "Stay" project, photographing eight breeds of "Japanese native horses" across the country, features approximately 50 large-format prints and Polaroids taken in eight locations, including Hokkaido, Nagano, Miyazaki, and Yonaguni Island. A special screening of video works will also be held in the adjacent Gallery 916 small space. A photobook commemorating the exhibition will be released, and a talk session and book signing will be held on Saturday, October 8, during the exhibition period, featuring Charlotte, Yoshihiko Ueda, and Atsushi Hamanaka of twelvebooks.
