Faliero Sarti opens its first flagship store in Japan. Aoyama store exclusive scarves on sale.

Sep 3, 2014

Faliero Sarti, a luxury scarf brand from Florence, Italy, has opened its first flagship store in Japan, the Faliero Sarti Aoyama Store, in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo (5-3-25 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo).

To commemorate the opening, a limited edition scarf (48,000 yen) designed by creative director Monica Sarti is on sale. Based on a map of Tokyo's Minami-Aoyama area, Monica hand-painted the scarf with landmarks of Florence, where Faliero Sarti is based, and Tokyo, and is imbued with the message "From Italy to Tokyo with love."

The store always has over 100 items from the full collection on display, including many items not available at other stores. The designs are based on three main categories: print, lace, and solid colors. The limited edition Disney collection, released this fall, features nine designs, including hand-drawn comic-style designs of Mickey Mouse and Minnie, a typographic Mary Poppins design, and a Maleficent design from the popular movie. Each design is priced at 59,000 yen.

Faliero Sarti was founded in Florence in 1949. In 1992, Monica, the founder's granddaughter, became creative director and launched a collection of the finest shawls. The unique soft feel and three-dimensional effect created by superior craftsmanship gained popularity, and the brand established itself as a luxury shawl brand.
