Christian Louboutin has announced a limited-edition collaboration with actress Angelina Jolie, called "Malangeli." The shoes were designed for the film "Maleficent," starring Angelina Jolie, which was released in the US in May of this year. The black-based design evokes the allure of the villainous character, and was handcrafted in the Louboutin atelier in Paris, with Angelina Jolie herself participating in the production. The wedge sole, shaped like Maleficent's horns, is reminiscent of Angelina Jolie's character. The nude mesh fabric is concealed by patent leather, evoking a dreamlike, dark, and magical world. Available in two colors, red and black, the shoes will be available for preorder from Christian Louboutin stores in New York, California, London, Hong Kong, and France starting October 20th. The shoes will be priced at $1,496 in the US. They are not scheduled to be available in Japan.
In addition, proceeds from the sale of the shoes will be donated to SOS Children's Villages, the world's largest organization for orphans and abandoned children. SOS Children's Villages has been supported by Angie since 2003 and provides various assistance programs, including stable home environments, education, and medical care, to over one million children each year.
