Can you eat Heidi's "white bread"?! World Breakfast All Day's May and June breakfasts are Swiss

Apr 25, 2017

WORLD BREAKFAST ALLDAY, a cafe restaurant in Tokyo's Gaienmae district with the concept of "discovering the world through breakfast," will be serving a "Swiss Breakfast" (1,500 yen) from May 9 to July 2. Switzerland is home to four languages: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. Each region is heavily influenced by neighboring countries, and the country's varied natural environment has led to a diverse food culture, with each valley boasting its own unique culture. The Japanese anime "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" faithfully depicts Swiss scenery and lifestyles with scenes featuring bread, cheese, and dried meat, a staple of the region's cuisine, which remains popular even today. For this breakfast, the restaurant will be serving freshly baked "Semmel" bread, modeled after the white bread Heidi brought back as a souvenir for Peter's grandmother. Two types of cheese, Gruère and Emmental, popular in Switzerland, will also be available. In addition, customers can enjoy Rösti, a Swiss national dish made from thinly sliced potatoes baked like a pancake, muesli cereal, drinks and desserts.

In addition, many Swiss-related events are scheduled to be held during the event, and the official website (http://www.world-breakfast-allday.com/) will be updated regularly.
