Actress Emma de Caunes was born on September 9, 1976, in Paris, France.

The daughter of actor and director Antoine de Caunes and documentary filmmaker Gaelle Roye, she began modeling in television commercials and advertising as a child.

Her performance in Sylvie Vereyde's film "Un frere" (1997) earned her a César Award for Most Promising Young Actress. She was also chosen to star in the comedy film "Restons groupes" (the same year). In 2002, she appeared in the comedy film "Mission Cleopatra" (2003), for which she won the Romy Schneider Award for Most Promising Young Actress.

Emma has since appeared in numerous films, including "Mr. Bean: A Trouble at Cannes" (2008). In 1998, she made her directorial debut with "Le nombril de l'univers."

Meanwhile, in her personal life, she married singer Sinclair in 2001. They had a daughter the following year, but divorced in 2005. In 2011, she remarried cartoonist Jamie Hewlett.
