Mark Borthwick exhibition at Taka Ishii. Japan event on the 20th.

Sep 8, 2014

Photographer Mark Borthwick's solo exhibition "Abandom Reverie`" will be held at Taka Ishii Gallery Photography/Film in Roppongi, Tokyo, from September 20th.

The exhibition reconstructs Borthwick's past photographs by combining his own poems with sound and readings by Hanayo. His works, which capture the randomness brought about by light, are superimposed on the words of his poems and presented as slide projections.

To commemorate the exhibition, a collection of his works, "Abandom Reverie`" (4,500 yen), will also be released. Borthwick himself will be visiting Japan for the opening reception on September 20th, where he will perform a live performance and sign a book at the gallery's "IMA CONCEPT STORE."

Mark Borthwick is a London-born, New York-based photographer. He has attracted attention by contributing to fashion magazines such as France's Purple and Britain's i-D, and by collaborating with many brands. In recent years, he has explored expression through a variety of media, including photography, music, video, and poetry, going beyond the boundaries of fashion photography.
