UNIQLO will launch its second collaboration with Ines de la Fressange, the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, on September 4th. The reunion follows the success of the 2014 Spring/Summer collection, released in February. Ines lists UNIQLO products as one of her favorites in her book, "Paris: Ines's Fashion Guide: My Rules and Favorite Addresses" (Shueisha), and pursues clothes that flatter women and that she wants to wear, not from a business or trend perspective, but from a customer's perspective. Approximately 70 items have been created, each with careful attention to detail, such as waist height and neckline opening. The number of items available in all stores will be three times that of the Spring/Summer collection, and the sales floor area will be approximately 1.5 times larger. An event was held at the Ginza Uniqlo on the 3rd, the day before the launch, featuring actress and model Anne, who stars in UNIQLO's 2014-15 Autumn/Winter advertising campaign, and design director Naoki Takizawa. The 12th floor, where the event will be held, is a limited-time concept floor inspired by Ines's apartment in Paris.
Regarding the collection's theme, "Parisian Chic," Takizawa commented, "It's about balancing and mixing everything from high-end brands to items sourced at flea markets." The goal was to create a lineup that allows for free coordination without any style suggestions. Anne commented, "The items are easy to integrate into your daily life and blend in with your existing wardrobe. They all fit well, so you can wear them according to your mood that day."
Among the items, the trench coat (12,900 yen) in chic colors with a vintage feel "has a liner, so you can regulate the temperature, making it easy to try in Japan's climate. It's not too tight-fitting, so you can layer it underneath," Anne said. The tuxedo coat (12,900 yen) is recommended not only for formal occasions but also for coordinating with denim and floral shirts. Takizawa concluded the fashion talk by saying, "I am happy to be able to share this clothing creation with Ines, who is a muse to the world. I hope everyone will share in this joy."
