Prada launches made-to-order lace-up shoes

Sep 30, 2014

Prada will open pop-up stores for lace-up shoes at the Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda main stores. In addition to new lace-up shoe arrivals, limited-edition designs will also be available. Customers can also order made-to-order lace-up shoes. With the made-to-order option, customers can freely choose the upper and sole. There are 32 upper options, including solid colors like cobalt blue and red, as well as two-tone options like black and red. Materials include the classic brushed calfskin, as well as precious skins like crocodile and python. The soles are available in five different colors. Customers can also have their initials engraved in gold on the insoles. The shoes will be completed in three to four months after ordering and delivered in special packaging. A 20% surcharge will be added to the price of the ready-to-wear shoes. The event will be held on the second floor of the Shinjuku Isetan Main Building from October 1st to 14th, and at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store from the 22nd to 28th. It will also be held at Prada's other street-level stores: Prada Nagoya from October 1st to 18th, Prada Aoyama from October 18th to 28th, Prada Osaka Shinsaibashi from November 1st to 15th, Prada Ginza from November 1st to 30th, and Prada Kobe from November 19th to 30th.
