CHANEL will begin selling sneakers featured in its Fall/Winter 2014-2015 ready-to-wear collection in boutiques on September 26th.
In his Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture collection, Artistic Director Karl Lagerfeld proposed a new style combining the corset, the ultimate symbol of femininity, with the sneaker, the symbol of sportswear. This fall, the silhouette is reinterpreted and incorporated into every look, from suits and overcoats to evening dresses. "Freedom is the soul of this collection," Lagerfeld said of the collection, which was unveiled against a backdrop reminiscent of a supermarket.
The sneakers feature a unique design that uses luxurious materials while retaining the thick rubber soles of traditional sneakers. The soles are adorned with the brand's signature "CC" logo.
Silhouettes range from low-top to knee-length lace-up boots, and are available in a wide variety of materials and color combinations. The lineup includes variously processed tweed, suede, laminated, cracked and iridescent leather, and colors such as black and pink, orange, black and gold, red and green, and pink and silver.
