Nobuyoshi Araki's solo exhibition "Insult Winter IMTOU" will be held in Harajuku, focusing on instant film works following "Insult Summer"

Feb 3, 2016

Photographer Nobuyoshi Araki's first solo exhibition of the year, "Into IMTOU," will be held at Art Space AM in Harajuku, Tokyo, from February 3rd to April 30th.
Like Araki's "Into Summer" solo exhibition held at the same venue last summer, this exhibition will feature a diverse series of works, primarily shot on instant film. "Western Sky" will also be on display, a contrast to "Eastern Sky," a series of early morning photographs taken from a balcony and featured in his 2015 solo exhibition "Ojo Shashu." The clear blue sky gradually turns crimson as the evening draws to a close, captured on Polaroid film.
Other works on display include those featuring his muse, KaoRi, in kimono and nude, as well as "Kinbaku Ecstasy," a series Araki himself printed in the 1980s for a feature in a French photography magazine.
