Gucci has unveiled the advertising campaign for its new Fall/Winter 2021-22 eyewear collection. The campaign evokes a world beyond time and space through photographs and a video featuring people using retro telephones.
Shooting in London and Shanghai, the new advertising campaign connects the two cities, showcasing a variety of characters talking on vintage mobile phones, car phones, hotel phones, and more.
Photographed in London by Quil Lemmons and in Shanghai by Luo Yang, the photos and video feature models wearing the brand's new eyewear, including Chinese actor Ni Ni, who continues to serve as a Gucci Eyewear ambassador. A cast of distinctive models, clad in Gucci, showcases new eyewear frame designs and styles while chatting on the phone in a variety of settings: a study, a bedroom, the back of a limousine, and a hotel room.
The eyewear featured in the campaign blends inspiration from different eras, perfectly balancing retro charm with modern elegance. Volumetric frames in faceted acetate and polished metal frames featuring intricate detailing are adorned with delicate chain necklaces, Interlocking Gs, and heart-shaped charms.
Echoing the 1980s and 1990s, the new designs offer classic appeal by reinterpreting masculine pilot frames with distinctive double-bridge detailing and decorative rivets.
