Moncler Grenoble's 2016-2017 Fall/Winter collection was held on February 13th in the central plaza of New York's Lincoln Center. The brand, which typically presents a grand-scale show once a year for its Fall/Winter collection, presented a collection centered on skiing, the brand's DNA, at this iconic New York location. A group of 80 men and women performed a collective movement reminiscent of the opening of an American college sports event. In addition to luxurious ski and mountaineering apparel utilizing high-performance materials and cutting-edge technology, this season also sees the introduction of snowboarding apparel. Lightweight, high-tech materials give oversized silhouettes a light and airy look. Vivid colors like red, yellow, and blue, along with bias-cut lacquer fabrics, offer a new look. Classic patterns and colors reminiscent of the brand's archives, such as tartan and two-tone houndstooth, are transformed into luxurious pieces using new materials and three-dimensional quilting.
The men's collection features a clean, smart silhouette inspired by James Bond in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," released in 1969. The women's collection emphasizes elegance with classic checks, fur, and intricate quilting. The collection showcases cutting-edge items as urban outdoor wear with functionality.
