Contemporary artist Shinro Ohtake has released two new titles in his catalog series "SO X TN," which he has been publishing continuously since 2015. A limited edition of 250 copies of "SO X TN: #1," a compilation of all previous catalogs, will also be released. A commemorative exhibition, "SO X TN: #1," will be held at NADiff a /p/a/r/t in Shibuya, Tokyo, from May 15 to June 26.
"SO X TN" is a catalog series that has been sold by Take Ninagawa, a gallery in Higashi-Azabu, Tokyo, for each of Ohtake's exhibitions, fairs, and other projects. It includes all of Ohtake's solo exhibitions, with the exception of his first exhibition, the three-part series "Paste, Paste, Paste, Paste, Paste," held in 2008.
In May, two new titles, "Time Memories" and "Retina," will be added to the four previous titles, bringing the lineup to six. A limited edition of 250 copies of "SO X TN: #1," a compilation of all previous catalogs, will also be released. Each piece features a limited edition number handwritten by Shinro Ohtake on the inside cover. Approximately 100 pieces from the rich variety of "SO X TN: #1" will be on display and for sale at this exhibition. They feature a variety of unique pieces, each part painting and part sculpture, with a rich, thick texture that is characteristic of Shinro Ohtake. A talk event, "An Early Summer Evening with Shinro Ohtake," will also be held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on May 15th. The exhibition "Time Memories" will also be held at Take Ninagawa from May 14th to June 30th. Purchasers of "SO X TN: #1" will also receive a complimentary, exclusive catalog, "Time Memories / Feedback," produced for Shinro Ohtake's solo exhibition as part of Show-Case Project No. 3, organized by the Keio University Art Center. Like the catalog series, the design was created by Manabu Koseki of Edit.35.
